The Roman Catholic church youth of Wasa Akropong of the Amenfi East Municipality in the Western Region have donated food items to the inmates of Wasa Akropong prison as a form of showing love during the Easter celebration.
Donating the items to the prison unit, Emmanuel Abegdo, the youth father of the church said, this year’s Easter celebration was specially designed to help the inmates of Wasa Akropong prison with some items.
He said “groundnut items contain yogurt,grandnut, gari,mTrollspure water, tissues, T – rolls and many more, adding, the food items cost them GH1200 “.
Mr. Emmanuel also appealed to other churches, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other institutions to help the inmates at the Wassa Akropong prisons.
The Crime Officer, DSP Amoani, acknowledged the effort of the Roman youth in supporting the inmates with the items.
He said the items donated will be used for the intended purpose and urged other well-meaning Ghanaians to also emulate the kind gestures exhibited by the church.
“ We are very grateful and on behalf of the Police command, we say thank you very much. We also call on other organizations to emulate the love you have exhibited today” he said.
