A DRIVER and his mate have died in a car accident after a mini cargo truck in which they were reportedly transporting marijuana was involved in an accident along the Kumasi-Accra highway.
The marijuana popularly known as ‘wee,’ DGN Online understands, were concealed in charcoal bags.
DGN Online is informed that the accident occurred at about 5:00am over the weekend after the driver reportedly ignored a signal by some security personnel to stop at a checkpoint around Linda Dor Rest Stop.
According to an eyewitness account, the driver was trying to escape arrest and in the process lost control of the truck as he negotiated a curve close to Anyinam in the Eastern Region.
That made the truck to crash into another truck registered AS 992-S.
