A defamation suit filed by Kumawood actor, Yaw Dabo, against his colleague, Oboy Siki, has been withdrawn after the two reached an out-of-court settlement.

Yaw Dabo had sued Oboy Siki, also known as Dada Santo, seeking GH₵1 million in damages over alleged defamatory remarks. However, less than 48 hours after their first appearance at the High Court in Kumasi, Yaw Dabo agreed to discontinue the case following the intervention of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.

In a video that surfaced after a meeting with the minister, both actors confirmed that they would no longer pursue the matter in court.

Oboy Siki withdrew the statements he had made and offered an unqualified apology to Dabo.

He said the comments were meant to spark social media banter but admitted that Dabo did not take them in that spirit.

“I have already apologised to Dabo before Frank (Dr Amoakohene), but let me state it here that all I said was not true and was said out of anger,” Oboy Siki told the media.

After addressing bloggers, Oboy Siki walked up to Dabo, shook his hand and publicly asked him to confirm that he had forgiven him.

Dabo confirmed that he had accepted the apology, stating that the matter had been resolved through the intervention of the regional minister and other prominent individuals who had reached out to him.

The issue began after Oboy Siki, in an interview with Ghpage, allegedly made disparaging remarks about Dabo’s involvement in football management and his private life.

He also alleged that Dabo had insulted President John Dramani Mahama.

Believing his reputation had been damaged, Dabo filed a defamation suit against Oboy Siki.

On February 23, 2026, both actors appeared before the High Court in Kumasi. The court later adjourned the case to allow them to explore a possible settlement, which has now been reached.
