Actress Yvonne Okoro was Saturday night honoured as 2019 Glitz Africa magazine style influencer of the year.
This was at the 2019 edition of the prestigious Glitz Africa awards at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The award was in honour of her contributions to the fashion industry with her decent fashion style and also serving as a role model to many young people via her roles in the movie and her philanthropic works.
Receiving the award on stage, she dedicated the award to her parents and thanked them for the beautiful life they have given her after congratulating organisers of the award.
“Mom, this is for you. Thank you. I love you mom. Yes dad, I hope you are watching? Thank you daddy,” the host of Dinning With Cooks & Braggarts said.
The Glitz Africa fashion is award ceremony celebrates everything incorporated in the archives of fashion. Saturday’s ceremony is five years since inception.
About 18 style plaques were given to contenders who stood out the most in the year under review, including the African designer of the year going to Aisha Ayensu (Christie Brown), fashion blogger of the year to Debbie Beeko, emerging designer of the year to Lauren Ama Bartels and best dressed celebrity on the red carpet category going to Zynnell Zuh.
The ceremony attracted a number of celebrities, with music performances from Dope Nation and other artistes.
Yvonne Okoro’s honour was one of the biggest awards of the evening.
