Kwabena Sam and Daniel Botwe
The Mile 7 District police have apprehended two suspected thieves who allegedly broke into a house and stole money, mobile phones and a taxi at   Chantan in Accra.
The suspects are Kwabena Sam, 38 years old and Daniel Botwe, 29.
The two were arrested with the help of a tracking device.
Briefing the DAILY GUIDE, Superintendent Ussif Tanko, Mile 7 District Police Commander, said the incident occurred on April 30, 2017.
The complainants woke up that fateful morning to discover that thieves had broken into their apartment and lodged a complainant to the police.
They told the police that the thieves made away with their three Samsung mobile phones, an amount of GH¢610 and a Toyota Corolla taxi with registration number GR 5117-17 – wine and yellow  colour – which was parked in front of the house.
The vehicle, the complainants said, had a tracking device installed in it and so it was tracked by the police and discovered that it was at Danfa, near Adenta, a suburb of Accra.
The police, the commander said, proceeded to Danfa and apprehended Kwabena Sam.
Two of the mobile phones belonging to the complainants were found being used by the suspect in the car.
On May 1, 2017 around 12:45, Daniel Botwe was nabbed and brought to the Tesano police station with a report that he was spotted scaling the wall of the victims that night.
While at the station, Sam identified him as one of his accomplices and so he was also detained.
The two admitted the offence and are being prepared for court.
