6 Die In Okere Accident

 

Six Persons have been crushed to death, as several others injured in a fatal accident at Bepoase, off the Asenema road in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.

According to reports, a Toyota Hiace bus, with registration number ER 804-18 loaded with foodstuff and traders, was climbing the hill to Adukrom from the Nkurakan market, while another bus, H-100 vehicle with registration number GX 2698-18 from Adukrom, heading towards Koforidua had a head on collision.

The police from Akropong and Adukrom when had the information reached the scene to retrieve the bodies and convey the wounded to the hospitals.

Four people were confirmed dead at the scene of the accident, while others in critical condition were rushed to Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong Akwapim and Koforidua Regional Hospital.

However, upon arrival at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, two other persons were confirmed dead raising the death toll to six.

The bodies have since been deposited at the same hospital morgue pending preservation as the Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
