Serene Insurance Wins Fastest Growing Company

SERENE INSURANCE, a subsidiary of the First Sky Group, picked up the Fastest Growing Company of the Year award at the 5th Ghana Insurance Awards held in Accra.

The company, which commenced its operations in 2016, now boasts of nine branches with over 68 staff and more than 40,000 institutional and retail client base.

As at January 2021, Serene Insurance was capitalised to the tune of about GHS 57 million, above the new capital requirements set by National Insurance Commission for insurance firms.

Its recognition for the award was based on its aggressive outreach, unrivalled customer service, strong financial base, and inclusive product penetration, among other innovations.

Serene Insurance has demonstrated strong growth in key financial metrics across its various business segments as it recorded about GHS43.3m in gross written premiums for the 2021 financial year representing 50 percent increase as against GHS 21.7m in 2020.

Commenting on the awards, Michael Agbleke, General Manager, Technical expressed excitement about the success chalked.

Richard Abbey, Chief Executive Officer of Xodus Communications, organisers of the Ghana Insurance Awards, noted his outfit was in partnership with industry players to promote higher standards and recognise excellence.

Guest of Honour, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), commended the nominees and winners for pushing the boundaries of excellence and quality services.
