Chris Hughton
New Ghana coach, Chris Hughton, has shared his philosophy after he was outdoored as the new trainer of the senior national soccer team.
The former Newcastle United and Brighton manager told the media in Kumasi that he will build a winning team to end Ghana’s four decades wait for the AFCON trophy.
Yesterday, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) handed Hughton a one-and-a-half year deal, and will be in charge of the team until December 2024.
He told the media, “We want to see a winning team. There will be a lot of questions. Are you offensive or defensive? Correct preparation of the teams.”
He added, “Use the players to the best of their abilities. We start on the same level. Put together a group of players to play as a team and win matches.”
On Thursday, Hughton will begin his assignment as the new Stars coach when he leads his side in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola in Kumasi.
