President of Nkoranza Youth Association, Nana Nyarko Ababio has tasked the church to use part of its funds generated from members such as tithes and other contributions to engage in developmental projects to complement the efforts of government.
Speaking at the African Faith Tabernacle Church one-day convention and remembrance day at Nkoranza South Municipality in Bono East Region, Nana Nyarko Ababio stated that the government in its effort to develop the country cannot accomplish it without the support of the church hence the need for churches to support the developmental agenda.
“The government alone cannot do it,” he said. “The church makes a lot of money from members’ contributions, which must be used for their welfare such as schools and hospitals where members can go and re-acquire education and receive health care.”
Speaking on behalf of the Omanhene, the Adontehene of the Nkoranza Traditional Council, Nana Akufo Agyepong noted the African Faith Tabernacle Church has been in existence for a long and that though the church has embarked on development projects they must do more to augment the government’s efforts in the communities they operate.
“We are happy with your activities and the traditional council is ready to support your effort by releasing land for any development projects you want to embark on that will benefit the community,” he said.
In response, the head pastor, Superior Prophet Stephen Frimpong Nkansah III said the church has set up what is called the African Faith Educational Trust Fund for the purposes of funding the educational needs of its members.
Superior Prophet Stephen Frimpong Nkansah III in his sermon urged churches to pray for the peace of the nation and the leadership of the country.
‘Life has become difficult for citizens these days and this is why we must always pray for wisdom for the leaders of the country to be steadfast and govern in the interest of God for the masses by turning the economy around to benefit all so we continue to enjoy the peace we are enjoying unlike other countries around us that are plagued by coup d’etat. We pray against coup d’etat and we ask for God’s continuous blessings on this nation, he prayed,” he said.
