Military Central Band in display
The Military Central Band received rousing applause following their remarkable performance of Black Sherif’s ‘Oil in My Head’ song at the 2023 graduation parade at the Ghana Military Academy in Accra.
The performance, which was the highlight of the parade, received massive appraisal from attendees and acknowledgement from President Akufo-Addo, who was stunned by their outstanding performance and drills which put many in awe.
During their performance, it was observed that most attendees were carried away by the emotional sediment of the song, as they sang the chorus part of the song rhythmically alongside the military instrumentals.
It was a sight to behold as they sang, “Oil in my head. Everythin’ I touch is blessed (is blessed)
All I see is blessings (blessings), And, no man can stop this (stop, stop)
Send them away. Evil eyes don’t watch me (watch me), ‘Cause all I see is blessings (blessings)
And, no man can stop this (stop, stop).”
The graduation ceremony which witnessed some 292 military officers graduate to occupy various roles in the services, was heavily attended by high-profile personalities including the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector General of Police, army chiefs and service commanders alongside relations of the graduates.
Black Sherif’s ‘Oil In My Head’ song is lifted off his album dubbed, ‘The Villain I Never Was’. The song since its release has gained massive airplay on various digital streaming platforms.
