VICE PRESIDENT Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has described the late Ejisu Member of Parliament (MP), John Kumah, as a hard worker, whose death has created a deep hole which will be difficult to fill.
According to him, both the country and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), of which John Kumah was a proud member, would greatly feel his visible absence, since he was a great asset.
“Indeed, Ghana and the NPP have lost a hardworking son,” Dr. Bawumia, who doubles as the NPP presidential candidate for the December 7 polls, said about John Kumah, who was also the Deputy Finance Minister.
The Vice President made the remarks when he was accompanied to the late John Kumah’s house at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region last Thursday, to commiserate with the bereaved family. He was accompanied by top government officials.
His entourage included the NPP National Chairman, Stephen Ntim, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare among others.
Continuing, Dr. Bawumia noted that he had the opportunity to work closely with the late MP on several projects, stressing that John Kumah always delivered to his admiration.
The Vice President, who seemed shocked and sad over John Kumah’s death, also said, “My deepest condolences to Lilian and the children, his mother, the entire family, and all loved ones.”
John Kumah died at Suhum while being transported in an ambulance from Kumasi to Accra for onward travel to Germany for medical treatment, on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
