Residents of Twifo Nuamakrom in the Central Region are reeling in shock after a 44-year-old man, Kweku Charles, was arrested for allegedly burying his 80-year-old wife, Sofomaame Esther Bolu, in their bedroom without informing anyone.
The prophetess, founder of Miracles Prayer Centre, had been ill, and her husband took over church activities before she passed away.
He allegedly kept her death a secret, telling community members she was in Accra for treatment.
Suspicion arose when she was not seen for over two weeks, and Charles’ inconsistent explanations raised concerns.
When confronted, he tried to flee, leading to a search that uncovered the woman’s body buried in the bedroom.
Police and Environmental Health Officers are investigating, and the suspect is in custody.
