Police in Los Angeles say gunfire was reported outside the Beverly Hills home of global pop star, Rihanna, on March 8, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired at about 13:15 local time. Authorities later arrested a suspect in connection with the incident.

A police official told CBS News, the BBC’s US partner, that the property targeted belongs to the singer and that investigators recovered assault-rifle shell casings at the scene. No injuries were reported.

Police said the suspect, believed to be a woman in her 30s, allegedly stopped her vehicle outside the residence and fired about seven shots before driving away.

The vehicle was later located roughly eight miles from the home, where officers took the woman into custody. Her identity has not yetbeen made public.

Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that Rihanna was inside the house at the time of the shooting.

The incident comes months after the Barbados-born singer, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, welcomed her third child with partner A$AP Rocky in September last year. The couple also share two sons, Riot and RZA.

Rihanna first rose to international fame in the early 2000s with hit songs such as Pon de Replay and Umbrella. Beyond music, she has built a business empire that includes the cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty. Forbes estimates her net worth to be over $1 billion.
