University of Development Studies’ (UDS) Barnabas Aggreh became the first winner of this year’s Ghana’s Fastest at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale last Saturday.
The northern region-based student proved he is the current fastest man in the country by clocking 10.13 seconds to win the men seniors race.
Following closely in second place was Olympian Sarfo Ansah with 10.22 seconds, while Derrick Sarkodie placed third with10.47 seconds.
In the female’s seniors race, Boakye Beatrice, also of UDS, finished first with 11.68 seconds.
She was followed by Aduntira Grace of Gbewaa Club, Northern Region, clocking 11.90 seconds.
There were U-18 and U-15 races.
Top retired Jamaican sprinter and former world 100 meters record holder, Asafa Powell and his wife graced the event.
Founder of Ghana’s Fastest Human, Reks Brobby commended the athletes, Asafa Powell and sponsors for making the Tamale meet a huge success.
