Following his outstanding performance in the Ghanaian radio industry, Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei of Adom FM has been honoured with the best news anchor of the year award (male category) at the second edition of the Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards (GAEA).
The award was in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the growth of the radio and television industry as well as Ghana’s media landscape.
The GAEA is aimed at recognising and rewarding personalities who have over the years contributed immensely towards the development of the creative industry in Ghana.
He told BEATWAVES, “I feel so honoured. I thank the Almighty God for the award. I feel so motivated and encouraged.”
He said the honour was a clear indication that he was doing well in his chosen profession, adding, “I will not relax henceforth.”
Ampofo Adjei, who described himself as someone who is highly motivated and determined to lead the market said, “Radio broadcasting in Ghana today is all about research, creativity and direction.”
He noted that ever since he became a broadcaster, he has been very consistent with his style of presentation and has also proved radio listeners that his style is very unique.
Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei is one of the most prolific news anchors on Adom FM and Adom TV. He is known for his comical style of presenting the news and use of ‘gargantuan’ proverbs.
The news presenter, who is also a musician with a number of songs to his credit, is the son of the late legendary highlife musician, Akwasi Ampofo Adjei (Mr AAA).
Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei has worked with a number of radio stations which include Mighty FM in his home town Asante Mampong, Nhyira FM in Kumasi, and now at Adom FM and Adom TV, a subsidiary of The Multimedia Group.
