A total of 1,314 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates from 26 basic schools in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis have received pep-talk from Takoradi-based artistes over examination fright.
Dubbed ‘Yes We Can’, the pep-talk was organised by online news portal, www.233times.com, with support from Westline Entertainment and Corpnation.
Aimed at taking out the external exams fright from the candidates and arming them with confidence to do exploit in BECE examination, the ‘Yes We Can’ tour which was organised from April 24 to June 1 visited a number of schools in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
Hiplife artiste Saviour Adzika, known in the music scene as Sayvee, the leader of Corpnation, said, “We decided to meet the students and encourage them to put in their best to make the region proud.”
The Chief Executive of Westline Entertainment, Emanuel Ampaabeng, added, “These are the future leaders and it is our responsibility to encourage them to excel.”
BECE candidates who received the pep talks expressed appreciation to the artistes and other personalities for encouraging them to work hard to meet the challenges ahead of them.
Amongst the speakers for this year’s ‘Yes We Can’ tour were Nero X, Tru7h (a California-based musician), Ewurama Smith, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, Manfred Darko, Jerry T. Mensah, Abdul Rashid Siba, Maame Ama Adu-Mensah, Titus Egyirkoom, Haruna Babangida, Ruben Mbra, Chelsey Sey, Prince Jaidey Derby and Bethel Ansah.
