Stephen Asamoah Boateng aka Asabe
Aspiring National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Asamoah Boateng aka Asabee, has given members of the party in the diaspora more reasons to keep supporting the party to deliver.
Mr. Asamoah Boateng, who was invited to chair the inauguration of the Duisburg Chapter of the NPP in Germany, took advantage to announce his plans to contest for the position of NPP Chairman when nominations open.
He assured them that under his chairmanship, he will make the party vibrant and ensure that the party continues to win general elections to ensure the accelerated development of the country.
He said he would actualise the long-taken decision to make members of the diaspora part of the National Executive Committee, saying “this decision has been in the files for years without being attended to, after several calls from the diaspora community to have it implemented have failed.”
He also said he would push for what he called “60 to 40 appointment power” when the party is in government.
Asabee explained that, the party that worked hard to win power should be given a 40 per cent stake in the appointment of members to various positions, adding “in so doing, some core party loyalists skilled for jobs and unnecessarily known to the presidency would be appointed by the party in order to satisfy members at every length.”
“I have come into the race to bridge the gap between government and the party, and I assure you that if this is done, we shall be able to satisfy majority of our party members in order to reduce the growing unsatisfactory remarks from our party’s grassroots,” he pointed out.
He also assured them that the party’s international desk will be more responsive to their calls and needs in his time as National Chairman and give them a stronger feel of membership of the party.
Asabee, who himself, has been a front liner of the party in the diaspora for many years also assured them of better recognition for their immense contributions to the party, including matters such as registration of party members and issuing of ID cards among others.
Members present accepted Asabee’s message and promised to support him to make his plans come true.
Asabee from Germany, joined the NPP United Kingdom branch in their delegates conference, sharing with them same message.
