Kofi Adade presenting books to a beneficiary
SOME SELECTED pupils in the Dadease Electoral Area in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, who are orphans, have received free learning materials at a function.
The benevolent gesture was extended to the kids by Kofi Adade, Assemblyman of the area, who is also a broadcast journalist.
Mr. Adade, who works with Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, has been donating learning materials to pupils, particularly orphans in his area for many years.
This year, he presented exercise books, school bags, pens and pencils to the beneficiary pupils in order to help improve their academic work in school.
Mr. Adade told DAILY GUIDE that education is the best legacy that parents and guardians could bequeath their children nowadays.
In this regard, he said he had made a person pledge to use his own resources and ‘connections’ in society to help improve the standards of education in his area.
According to him, he was aware of the difficulties that pupils, who are orphans, experience in accessing education, hence his resolve to support such pupils.
Mr. Adade also admonished parents and guardians to make the education of their children their priority so they (pupils) could become influential people in society.
