Brazil Ends Gender Difference In Soccer, Men, Women Footballers To Get Equal Pay

Brazil Football Association (FA) has announced an end to gender difference in football, pledging to ensure equal pay for women and men footballers.

Per the new order, woman footballer
Marta is to be paid same as Neymar for representing Brazil at the international stage.

Brazil FA president, Rogerio Caboclo, in a statement, stated that “There will be no more gender difference in remuneration between men and women.”

“The CBF has equalled the prize money and allowances between men’s and women’s football, which means the women players will earn the same as the men,” Rogerio Caboclo added.

The move has seen Brazil joining Australia, Norway and New Zealand, as nations who pay their men and women the same amount.

The equal pay policy for Brazil is to be applied to the teams participating in the Olympics in 2021 as well as the next World Cup tournaments.

According to Caboclo, “It will be proportionally the same as what Fifa proposes for women, that is to say, there will be no more gender difference in remuneration between men and women.”
