Renowned highlife musician, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known in the showbiz scene as Daddy Lumba, has been honoured with Borga Highlife Lifetime Achievement Award by the German Ambassador to Ghana, Daniel Krull.
Daddy Lumba, who is one of the well-known highlife musicians in Ghana today with international recognition, was honoured for his immense contribution to the growth of Ghanaian highlife music.
His manager, Philip Kwabena Agyemang Appiah-Kubi (Roman Fada), received the award at a ceremony held at the German Ambassador’s residence in Accra.
Some of the veteran musicians who were honoured alongside Daddy Lumba include Charles Amoah, Nana Acheampong, among others.
In a post on his Facebook wall, Daddy Lumba wrote, “I am honoured to receive this award, coming from my second home, Germany, where I lived for decades means a lot to me. I am grateful to the organisers and the ambassador for this recognition.
“I regret that I couldn’t be there in person to accept this award as I’m currently working on my next project scheduled for release very soon.
“This award motivates me to continue creating and contributing to highlife music. Thank you all for your support.”
