The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Zoleka Cuba last week led a team from her outfit on a bond strengthening tour of Western Publications Limited, publishers of DAILY GUIDE.
During the visit, hosts and guests exchanged ideas on how to improve relationship between them. She told her hosts that “we are here on a courtesy call and to meet our media partners who serve as the channels of our brand.” Continuing she said it is important to meet media partners so, as she put it, Vodafone can have a feel of who the persons behind such organizations are and for such channels to understand the work they do.
The visit, she added, was intended to explore ways by which the two entities can collaborate for their mutual benefits.
Gayheart Mensah, Director of External Affairs of Vodafone, who accompanied the CEO spoke about the importance of digitization vis a vis media operations.
“Ours is to drive the revolution of digitization and how to get people to understand its importance and connectivity,” he said.
He spoke about the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in which Vodafone has engaged in pointing at especially the support the telecommunications company has rendered to kids to enable them access educational materials for their academic needs.
Kwame Blay, the Business Development Manager of Western Publications Limited, narrated the genesis of the DAILY GUIDE which paper he said started operations thirty three years ago and is going through a transition.
Expatiating, he said the company is on the verge of increasing its channels-TV and radio- additions which would keep the brand abreast with modernity.
He spoke about the importance of Western Publications Limited partnering with the Vodafone brand adding that the former can boast of a youthful and vibrant staff to its credit.
The DAILY GUIDE, according to him, has the largest following on the social media space as he stressed the need for the two to collaborate so they can benefit from the dividends thereof.
Kwame Blay also dangled the CSR activities of Western Publications Limited; gestures which he said have impacted positively on residents within the vicinity of the corporate offices of the company.
The Vodafone team later toured the newsroom.
