A scene from last year’s event
A contemporary dance piece that illustrates and addresses social and hierarchical complexity in the Ghanaian society will be performed on Friday, August 25 at the Alliance Française in Accra.
Titled ‘Dance The Time’, the production is the result of a three-day workshop for contemporary dancers, led by Felix Ofosu Dompreh of Kuyum Arts Investigation in Accra.
The aim is to challenge and help expand their artistry through movement exercises, as well as to provide participants with innovative tools to support their creative process and augment their skills to create original dance vocabularies.
A dancer, choreographer and researcher, Ofosu Dompreh was trained at the Noyam Dance Institute (Ghana) and École des Sable (Senegal) in traditional, contemporary and Afro-jazz dance forms.
Currently pursuing a master’s degree in dance at the University of Arts in Berlin, Germany, Ofosu Dompreh has worked with renowned choreographers and dancers from Africa, Europe, America and Asia.
