Actor Michael Pesah, popularly known as Drogba, says a viral video falsely claiming he had been healed of his medical conditions has stopped people from donating towards his treatment.
The video, which surfaced in August 2024, suggested that the YOLO star had miraculously recovered from a rare neurological disorder after visiting Christ Embassy Airport City (CEAC). While the clip sparked excitement among many, Drogba insists it was misinformation.
“When the misinformation happened, I was still going to the hospital. Some people who had donated said I should bring the money back. I am still getting medication as well. One thing I want to tell the general public is that what the blogger posted was actually false,” he said in an interview with DJ Slim on Street Is Watching.
He also revealed that the church released the footage without his knowledge or consent.
“No, they didn’t. I didn’t even know that video had come out. I don’t know why that video came out, and I feel like if you are winning souls for someone, you don’t have to step on someone’s toe because you don’t know what the person is going through,” he added.
In 2024, Drogba disclosed he was battling multiple illnesses, including sleep apnea, GAD-positive cerebellar ataxia, and Stiff Person Syndrome — a rare condition that causes muscle stiffness and spasms. He also suffers from tremors, dizziness, and visual disturbances.
The actor later launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $280,000 for treatment abroad, citing the heavy financial strain of ongoing care.
