Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Epixode, has officially released the list of performing artistes billed for this year’s edition of the annual Lamajo Festival.
This year’s festival is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Alliance Française.
Artistes billed for the event include Edem, Tinny, Trigmatic, Adane Best, KK Fosu, Abiana, Ackah Blay and a host of others.
The festival is expected to have a few unexpected performances, particularly after Stonebwoy made an appearance on stage alongside other prominent dancehall and reggae artistes during the previous year’s event.
The phrase “Lamajo,” which means “Sing and Let Me Dance” in English, describes how these artistes would entice music enthusiasts with exceptional live band performances across a variety of genres.
In an interview, Epixode stated that his objective was to turn Lamajo into an international celebration that honours African music and encourages the exchange of musical traditions.
“Last year’s festival was incredible, and in addition to my brother Stonebwoy’s unexpected attendance, we witnessed a number of foreign artistes perform live. Thus, I implore music enthusiasts to attend in large numbers and help the festival,” he stated.
