‘GFA Has Not Sacked Technical Director’

Bernhard Lippert

The Head of Communications at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has indicated that Bernhard Lippert has not resigned from his position as the Technical Director (TD) of the GFA.

He, however, said it was rather a mutual understanding between the German football expert and the Ghana Football Association.

Speaking on Kickoff on Guide Radio 91.5FM with Ben Osei Bonsu, Asante Twum said: “Bernhard Lippert has not resigned nor sacked, he was appointed to execute a technical job, and I think his contract has expired. He has done a good job, today we have massive improvement in all the various technical directorates at the Football Association.

“He came to build a technical direction for our various national teams and I think his contract has ended, Lippert’s contract with the Ghana Football Association has ended and was not renewed.”

Lippert served as the Technical Director of the association, playing a role in the development and implementation of the technical strategies for Ghanaian football.

As the contract has ended, it is important to understand the background and context of Lippert’s tenure with the Ghana Football Association.

Lippert held the position of Technical Director in the Ghana Football Association, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the technical aspects of Ghanaian football. As the Technical Director, Lippert was responsible for formulating and implementing training programmes, identifying and nurturing young talents, and collaborating with coaches and players to enhance the overall performance of Ghana’s national football teams. His role was crucial in the development and success of the Ghana Football Association.

Twum further reiterated, “I think we’re satisfied with what he has done with our various national teams , so he has not resigned nor sacked but both the FA and Mr Lippert have decided to go their separate ways.”

Lippert’s contract expiration highlights the need to examine the timeline and duration of his contribution to the Ghana Football Association.

The Technical Director position in the Ghana Football Association holds significant importance in ensuring the optimal functioning and progress of Ghanaian football.

The Technical Director is essential in developing short and long-term strategies, fostering talent, and shaping the overall direction of football in the country.
