The fourth edition of the Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) has been launched with nominations opened for women who have transformed lives in their respective endeavours.
The awards will confer honours on Ghanaian women who contribute their quota to societies through charity and socioeconomic developmental projects.
This year’s event will be held on October 1 in Accra, and it will confer honours on Ghanaian women who have impacted the growth of the country in areas such as politics, health, education, sports and showbiz.
The event, which will be streamed live on all social platforms, promises to be an unforgettable and exciting experience that invited guests cannot afford to miss.
Speaking at the launch of this year’s edition of the awards, Mrs. Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, Executive Director of Askof Production, organisers of the event, made a clarion call to all women involved in social change to partake in the nomination exercise as they seek to reward them accordingly.
“GOWA has grown over the past years and this year’s edition promises lots of excitement. I entreat all women who have one way or the other affected lives to fill their nomination and get recognised.
“It is our mission to celebrate women and we have added some new categories as we try to capture every space that women are impacting as they quest to make Ghana a better place,’’ she said.
She, however, promised Ghanaians that this year’s awards ceremony would be a memorable one.
Mr. Gideon Asare, Managing Director of Adansi Travels, one of the sponsors of GOWA, said celebrating women involved in social change was in the right direction, as they believe in the empowerment of women.
“We deemed it a necessary obligation to partner the organisers because we believe in rewarding women who have had a tremendous impact on society.
“As we celebrate our eighth anniversary, the ultimate winner for this year’s awards would get a free week-long trip to Dubai in our ‘Power of 8’ promotion which is currently ongoing,” he stated.
