Guru
University of Ghana’s newly elected Students Representative Council (SRC) President, Maradona Yeboah Adjei also known as Guru, has expressed his gratitude to several top Ghanaian celebrities, including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Lilwin, and Keche, for their support during his successful campaign.
The rapper revealed that these entertainers played a pivotal role in boosting his visibility on campus, contributing significantly to his victory.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the ‘Lapaz Toyota’ hitmaker shared that Stonebwoy publicly endorsed his candidacy during a programme at GIMPA, while Sarkodie took it a step further by asking his fans to support Guru and vote for him.
The popular music duo Keche also supported the campaign by sending broadcast messages encouraging University of Ghana students to cast their votes in Guru’s favour.
Guru further acknowledged that, while he doesn’t have personal relationships with all these celebrities, their backing greatly influenced his campaign. Lilwin and Dr. Cryme even joined him in a door-to-door campaign, which further increased his presence and connection with the student body.
Grateful for the overwhelming support, the musician plans to show his appreciation to the stars through social media, and looks forward to reciprocating their kindness in the future.
He believes their contributions were crucial to his success in the election.
