Gyataba Demands Fairness From EC

Nana Agyenim Boateng aka ‘Gyataba’, the UFP flagbearer

FLAGBEARER OF the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly called ‘Gyataba’, has tasked the Electoral Commission (EC) to supervise the December 7 elections in a free and fair manner to ensure peace.

“We at the UFP have the firm belief that free and fair elections are the hallmarks of liberal democracy”, he stated to his party faithful, minutes after he was confirmed the UFP presidential candidate through popular acclamation in Kumasi on Saturday during the UFP National Delegates Congress.

Gyataba, who was dressed in a flashy suit, insisted that the country’s peaceful atmosphere could only be sustained to ensure continuous growth if the EC acted professionally by supervising the polls in a free, transparent and fair manner.

The UFP flagbearer also charged the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to embark on rigorous public education to admonish the citizenry to vote only once as enshrined in the law, to help prevent troubles in the polls.

Gyataba sternly warned the electorates about the dangers of voting more than once during the elections, urging them to strictly abide by the laws of the elections so that the country’s peace could be preserved.

He openly condemned politics of insults and insinuations, sternly warning that such acts have the tendency of sparking uncontrollable anger, which could lead to civil strife and destabilize the state, with its attendant problems.

According to him, opposition political parties ought to criticize the sitting government when it became clear that it was on the wrong track, adding that the government should also be praised when necessary.

Gyataba stated that the UFP is confronting the upcoming elections as a united family, and is poised to cause huge sensation by winning the elections to properly steer the affairs of the state to enhance the life of the masses.

The UFP presidential candidate said his political party boasts of young hard working and visionary people, who would contribute their quota to help the UFP administration to lead the country into affluence if they win the elections.

He assured that UFP would soon launch its manifesto which encloses the party’s roadmap to lead Ghana to growth, appealing to the electorates to vote massively for him as president to enable him transform the country.
