I Didn’t Go For Any Juju Bath – Eastern Regional Minister

THE Eastern Regional Minister, also the incumbent for Nkawkaw Constituency who is seeking re-election for the third time, Eric Kwakye, has denied claims that he bathed naked in the four corners of the Constituency as directed by his spiritualist.

Earlier today, before the elections, there were news trending that the Youth in Banka and Danteng prevent the Incumbent MP from bathing naked at the four corners of the Constituency.

The Regional Minister is currently in hot waters as he is facing the contest with five other candidates in the persons of Kwabena Adusa Okerchiri, Seth Adjei Baah, David Asante Boateng, Joyce Opoku Boateng and Frempong Joseph.

Eric Kwakye, who cast his vote at the NPP Nkawkaw Constituency party around 8:30 am today told journalists that the claims being peddled across the constituency are false.

He said the allegation needs to be investigated.

“Who told you that? I need to know the leaders of the group peddling this falsehood. This cannot be condoned. This is a dent on my image and I will not accept it.”

The Regional Minister said he was headed for the communities where the allegations have been made to curse persons peddling this falsehood.

“From here, I’m going to the community where the allegations have been made and openly curse persons who have made these allegations. Why am I mad? Then they should say I’m walking naked on the streets here. The area where these allegations are coming from is the hometown of one of the aspirants so I’m not shocked.”

On the accusation of dolling out cash as some of the opponents are given out Ghc 5,000, he is not aware but for him, he gave out transportation to delegates in order to facilitate their movement from their homes to the polling.

The Regional Minister added that the number of aspirants contesting him does not mean he has underperformed.

He said this is a contest and definitely you will have people to contest.

” I am not scared at all. I have gone through this before. I had six people contest me in the past, so this not new for me” he hinted.

To him, he has expanded and opened up the constituency and lobbied for road infrastructure in the constituency to be improved access to health care, water and other developmental projects.

Mr Kwakye Darfour was optimistic of victory and insisted he will emerge as victor come June 20, 2020, because he is a strong candidate.
