Ghanaian Highlife Act, Kwesi Arthur’s album “Son of Jacob,” a 15-track debut album that dropped in 2022, blending Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, and R&B with raw honesty has surpassed 24 million streams on Spotify.
His album title references the biblical Jacob, symbolising Kwesi’s spiritual journey and connection to his Ghanaian roots. Featuring collaborations with Joeboy, M Huncho, Teni, Adekunle Gold, and Vic Mensa, the album explores themes of family, struggle, and redemption.
The songs include “Drama” (featuring Bigg Homie Flee), “Disturb”, “Baajo” (featuring Joeboy), “Jungle Music”, Pt. 2 (featuring M Huncho), “Silver Spoon”, “Paper”, “Celebrate” (featuring Teni), “Toxic” (featuring Adekunle Gold), “Traumatized”, “Winning”, “Mind Over Body”, “Animal”, “Diamond Dancing”, “No Regret” and “Adom”.
Kwesi Arthur burst onto the music scene in 2017 with his hit single “Grind Day,” featuring Sarkodie and Medikal, and has since become one of Ghana’s most successful young artistes.
He won Hip Hop Song of the Year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for “Grind Day”, followed by Best Collaboration at the 2019 3Music Awards. He was nominated for Best International Act at the 2018 BET Awards.
Kwesi Arthur was also nominated for Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, and has worked with big names like KiDi, Shatta Wale, and South Africa’s Nasty C.
