Justice Anin-Yeboah receiving the items from Irene Naa Torshie Addo
The District Assemblies Common Fund, through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, has donated personal hygiene items to the Judicial Service of Ghana to support its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The items were made up of 150 Veronica buckets with metal stands, 150 wash basins, 150 waste bins, 300 packs of disposable tissues, 300 bottles of hand sanitizers and 300 bottles of liquid soap.
Presenting the items to the Chief Justice (CJ), the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, said they were following up on a request from the CJ to support the Judicial Service.
The CJ, Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, who received the items on behalf of the Judicial Service, commended the Ministry the District Assemblies Common Fund highly for the gesture, and said they were going to put them to good use in the fight against the pandemic.
“Human beings are creatures of habit, and judges, like everyone else, are learning to adjust to the new personal hygiene protocols brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
The items, which represented the first tranche of the donation from the ministry, would be distributed to judges and magistrates across the country for their personal use in their homes.
Present at the ceremony was the Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Osei Bonsu Amoah, the Judicial Secretary, Cynthia Pamela A. Addo, and some directors of the Judicial Service.
