Pogba
France legend Claude Makelele has put the boot into Paul Pogba over his dancing antics during the recent victory over Bournemouth.
Pogba flourished in the game and got himself on the scoresheet twice, marking each of his finishes with an elaborate and seemingly choreographed dance celebration.
Despite Manchester United’s encouraging 4-1 win, Makelele feels Pogba should have saved his actions for the dressing room and shown more respect to his opponents.
Speaking on Astro Supersport Sunday Night live, Makelele admitted Pogba’s behaviour did not sit well with him, and it is something he would seek to resolve internally if he were still playing.
He said, “One example is Thierry Henry. When he scored a goal, everybody was like, F*****g hell, many goals, he’s never happy.”
“One day I told Thierry, why?” and he said it’s the way I celebrate my goal. I know people don’t like this, but I’m like this. I can’t change this.”
“For me, it means sometimes you don’t respect your opponent, you know?’
Pogba struggled under the previous regime of Jose Mourinho, but has bounced back to form under new interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“It’s frustrating. I’m fronting Pogba. I want to tell him, listen, do this in the dressing room, not now.” It’s frustrating. “You win 4-0 and you’re dancing in front of me,” Makelele added.
