THE POLICE in the Brong Ahafo Region are on a manhunt for six suspected Fulani highway robbers for attacking passengers at gunpoint and robbing them of their moneys and mobile phones.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that six masked Fulani robbers with single-barrel shotguns and machetes attacked and robbed four passengers on board a taxi cab with registration number BA 211-N at Mframaso near Wenchi on 13th December 18, 2018.
The passengers including a community protection agent officer, Osman Ahmed and driver of Opel Taxi cab, Yaw Christopher, reported to the Wenchi Divisional Police that they were attacked and robbed by suspects believed to be of Fulani extraction when they were returning from Sunyani to Wenchi in the night. The robbers fled into the bush after the act. Fortunately, they were no casualties.
They took away three mobile phones and some amount of money belonging to the passengers. A patrol team was immediately dispatched to the area but could not trace their whereabouts.
Police in the region have therefore appealed to residents, especially residents of the area, to volunteer information to the police for the arrest of the miscreants.
Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Augustine Oppong, made the appeal when speaking to DAILY GUIDE.
