Floyd Mayweather on a pile of cash
As the fall-out continues from Canelo Alvarez’s controversial draw with Gennady Golovkin, one former fighter looked to be enjoying his time away from the ring.
Just three miles down the Las Vegas strip from where rogue officiating marred Golovkin’s legacy-cementing clash with the Mexican sensation on Saturday, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather was living up to his nickname at his strip club ‘Girl Collection’.
The former-five weight world champion retired from boxing on August 26, following his money-spinning victory over Conor McGregor.
The historic cross-over bout, which was derided by many within the sport, took Mayweather’s unbeaten record to 50-0 and is believed to have earned him another $350million.
‘Money’ is the richest star in the sport’s history and over the weekend the 40-year-old showed off the fruits off his labour alongside actor and comedian Dave Chappelle.
Mayweather was at the Vegas strip club wearing an array of jewellery and surrounded by women and a mound of cash.
In the video — uploaded to his official Instragram story — ‘Money’ then picked up a pile of the cash and threw it in the air.
In 2016, the 40-year-old, who is notorious for showing off his fortune, was estimated by Forbes to be worth more than £250m.
His earnings from boxing were reportedly in excess of $1bn, while out-of-ring investments also help swell his sizeable fortune.
As well as ‘Girl Collection’, Mayweather has his own boxing club in Las Vegas and a bulging property empire that his associate, Leonard Ellerbe, claims provides him with a seven-figure cheque each month.
