Miss Ghana 2002 Shaida Buari Loses Mother

Shaida Buari and her mom in their happy days

Weekend reports indicate that Miss Ghana 2002, Shaida Buari, has lost her mother Madam Betty Mirabelle Odonkor.

The 61-year-old reportedly died on Friday, February 5, due to a yet to be known cause. Her unfortunate demise has come as a shock to many who knew her to be well and kicking.

Shaida, who announced the sad incident on Friday, asked the public to “kindly respect the privacy of the family at this time. No visitors are allowed at home. We will keep you informed.”

“Mummy…Thank you for choosing me,” Shaida wrote in a Facebook post.

“This is one of the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, I never thought I’d be saying goodbye like this , my heart is broken, But it is well… wherever you are, you will never be forgotten. Always in my heart. Love you!” Shaida’s sister, Samera Buari also wrote in an Instagram post.

Shaida was born to former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Alhaji Sidiku Buari and the late Madam Betty Mirabelle Odonkor who used to run a successful bridal service for women in Ghana.

Previous reports alleged that Alhaji and Mirabelle divorced in 1997. After that allegation, her marriage life has since remained private.

Shaida has always celebrated her mother on social media by sharing her photos. The last photo she shared of her mom was when she wished her happy birthday on January 22, 2021. Unfortunately, she couldn’t survive the year.
