Emmanuel Ofori Attah Snr
Emmanuel Ofori Attah Snr has been given 100% endorsement as District Chief Executive (DCE) by the 36 Assembly Members of Kwahu South District in the Eastern Region.
Emmatta, as he is affectionately called, was the chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Mpraeso Constituency and assembly man for Obomeng electoral area before his appointment as DCE by President Akufo-Addo.
Even before the voting commenced, the assembly members, together with other sympathizers, were chanting “winner, winner,” as the entire hall was electrified with jubilation.
The regional electoral officer who supervised the process that led to the, overwhelming endorsement, declared Emmanuel Ofori as the elected DCE.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Emmanuel Attah thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and indicated that his vision is to help uplift the image of the district and would ensure that that was done.
He stressed that his outfit would work hard with the members to address the challenges facing the district and also bring the needed development to the area.
Emmatta further called on the members to rally behind him in the interest of the area, adding that his doors are open to all and would do a lot of consultations when necessary. He indicated that he would welcome any constructive criticisms that would inure to the benefit of the district.
Eric Kwakye Darfour, Eastern Regional Minister, thanked the members for endorsing the president’s nominee.
The minister said he has confidence in the new DCE because he is hardworking, and urged the members to cooperate with Emmatta so that he can achieve concretise the vision of the president to bring development to the district.
