MUSIGA Holds Regional Elections In Kumasi

All is set for the regional branch elections of the Ashanti regional branch of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) tomorrow at the Kumasi Cultural Centre.

According to the National Organiser of MUSIGA, Chizzy Wailer, all the necessary arrangements have been concluded with the Electoral Commission and the police. He indicated that the leadership of the union had addressed all the issues that affected the successful conduct of the last elections.

The 2nd Vice President MUSIGA, Rev Dr Thomas Yawson, who has been working with the interim leadership of the region, has assured all members in the region that all the thorny issues have been addressed.

He indicated that so far, the elections had been held in all regions and new executives elected, adding that the elections which were held in the Ashanti Region last year had to be cancelled due to some irregularities.

Two members are contesting for the chairmanship of the region. They are the former regional secretary Evans Nana Kwaku Atwere and the Augustine Addison, a Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) board member. Ten other persons are contesting for other executive positions.
