My Friend Died Of COVID-19, It’s Real-Model Beatrice Eli

Young model, Beatrice Eli, has asked Ghanaians to take the COVID-19 pandemic seriously and take precautions so as not to get infected because the virus is real.

In an interview with NEWS-ONE on Monday, she revealed that she lost a friend to COVID-19.

“COVID-19 is real because I have friends who are currently infected by the virus and are receiving treatment in the hospital, and of course one just lost his life,” she disclosed.

“I entreat all of us to take all precautionary measures seriously so we can battle this virus together,” she appealed.

Currently, Ghana is witnessing what seems to be the second wave of COVID-19 surge. President Akufo-Addo in his Sunday night address warned he would be re-imposing restriction on movement should the surge in active COVID-19 cases persist.

Beatrice described 2020 as a devastating year because she didn’t get to work much due to COVID-19. She hopes things get far better in 2021 if Ghanaians follow the protocols to stem the spread of COVID-19.

“Last year was a very devastating year for me as a model because of the COVID-19 pandemic. There were no shows for models because of the ban on social gatherings but well, I’m happy with how the year went. Of course, COVID-19 disrupted a lot of things, but I made some progress and graced some platforms, so I will say it was a good year. I have high hopes for the year 2021 and I believe it’s going to be great.

“I’m very positive about 2021 and just hoping for the best. I have started embarking on my Girl Child 2021 project by helping deprived girls manage menstrual hygiene, education on teenage pregnancies, girl-child abuse and so much more,” she indicated.
