New GJA Volta Leadership Sworn Into Office

The newly elected Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the Volta Region have been officially sworn into office, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the association.

The symbolic swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Ho High Court Complex, where His Honour, Osman Abdul Hakeem, administered the oaths of office and allegiance on behalf of the Supervising High Court Judge, His Lordship, Justice John Ekow Mensah.

The newly inducted executives are Dr. Harrison Kofi Belley Chairman, Ivy Priscilla Setordjie, Vice Chairman, Lambert Kofi Atsivor, Secretary and King Freeman Nutsukpoe, Treasurer.

Additionally, Mr. Nana Kwabena Ntow was sworn in as the GJA Chairman for the Oti Region, having emerged as the sole elected officer for the region.

The event was attended by members of the association, fellow journalists, and media practitioners from Ho and beyond.

In his inaugural remarks, Dr. Belley, the Volta Regional Chairman, underscored the importance of unity within the media fraternity and pledged to lead an inclusive and development-driven administration.

He outlined key priorities for his leadership, including the completion of the Volta Press Centre Phase II project and the revitalisation of the Regional GJA Awards scheme.

Dr. Belley further emphasised the need for increased regional visibility and stronger national recognition of media professionals from the Volta Region.

He called on all stakeholders to support the new administration in fostering a resilient, vibrant, and impactful media landscape.

“The strength of our association lies in our unity and collective vision as we are committed to working together to improve our professional space and elevate the standards of journalism across the region.”
