NPP Greets Muslims On Ramadan Fasting

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Chief Imam

Government has extended its well wishes to the Muslim community in Ghana and across the world who have commenced this year’s Ramadan fasting and prayers.

A statement signed by a Deputy Minister of Information, Curtis Perry Kwabla Okudzeto, on behalf of the government, indicated “Government’s prayer is that Muslims will use this holy month of Ramadan to pray for Allah to ward off the evils that plague our society and draw us back.”

It said that Ramadan should unite Ghanaians and instill in them “fellow-feeling, so that we can create a society where Allah is truly our anchor against the storms of life.”

Government further admonished, “Let us continue to demonstrate the spirit of oneness that binds us together as Ghanaians.”

Commenting on the significance of Ramadan, the statement described the holy month as a period of intense devotion and commitment to the will of Allah, adding that it is “a period when peace and love become the guiding principles of the conduct of Muslims around the world.”
