Ussif Mustapha
The acting Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Mustapha Ussif has been recognized for being the best young Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the year during the 8th Ghana Entrepreneurs & Corporate Executive Awards held at Movenpick Hotel, Accra last Saturday.
The Ag Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme in-charge of Administration and Finance, Gifty Oware-Aboagye, congratulated Executive Director for the feat.
The annual award, which was organized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana, aims at recognizing the significance of Ghanaian entrepreneurs in Small, Medium and Large Enterprises (SMLEs) in sustaining economic growth, increasing trade, generating employment and creating new entrepreneurs in Ghana.
Mr. Ussif was appointed as the Ag. Executive Director by the President on 6th February 2017 and has been credited with a catalogue of innovations at the NSS.
The implementation of strategic projects to repair the dented image of the scheme after it was hit by a sway of scandals shortly before he took over the mantle has particularly moved more notches on the scale of performance.
In the area of agriculture, the scheme, under his leadership, has cultivated over 1,000 acres of land across the country, a feat, which is being replicated in the sphere of animal husbandry.
The scheme owns over 20,000 fowls, about 100 pigs, rabbits, goats, tilapia and cat fishes, DAILY GUIDE has learnt.
This year, the scheme has introduced a paperless system which would enable tertiary institutions to send and receive data of students, service registration online and submission of identification cards online.
The paperless system will also check fraudulent activities such as impersonation, presentation of fake documents and the elimination of ghost names, among others.
Other winners were John Peter Amewu – Minister for Land and Natural Resources, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, Dr Felix Anyah – CEO of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
