Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri is said to have resigned, the action coming on the heels of the authority’s board chairman, Arnold Boateng’s exiting from his post a few weeks ago.
It is unclear what triggered the CEO’s action but DAILY GUIDE has gathered he was compelled to take the honourable action to avoid a harsh directive.
DAILY GUIDE learnt at the time of filing this story that the action was the result of procurement breaches at the NYA.
The Chief of Staff, Mrs Akosua Frema Opare Osei, reportedly demanded the resignation of the CEO following the revelation of the breaches.
A meeting reportedly preceded the Chief of Staff’s action and coming on the heels of the hullabaloo over the alleged acts of financial impropriety of the former Public Procurement Authority’s boss, members of the public have had cause to frown upon how public officials are disregarding the regulations regarding the subject.
A petition is said to have been brought to the attention of the Chief of Staff regarding a questionable procurement procedure which the Public Procurement Authority was asked to investigate.
A procurement in which the CEO had allegedly breached procedures, awarding the said contract without the knowledge of the board, stood prominent on the charge sheet.
This matter was referred to the PPA last month to investigate. The PPA assigned a team of investigators to gather information on it.
