Celebrated para-athlete Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah and compatriots will hit the streets from November 7  to December  7  in a special peace campaign code named ‘Riding For Peace’.

Launching the peace campaign (Promoting Peace through Cycling) in Accra yesterday, the activist cum philanthropist told the media that the initiative sought to drum home the need for peace ahead of this year’s general elections.

He revealed that the one month campaign begins in Accra and would go through the other nine regions, 240 districts in all and would end in the Eastern Region, his region of birth.

“Election is approaching and what we hear in the news is not pleasant. If war breaks out now it is we persons with disability, pregnant women and children that will suffer most.”

“In the US, where I currently reside, you don’t see persons with disability begging for alms. It is my prayer that I get to the point where I clear all persons with disability from the streets of Ghana.”

“My friends and other persons with disability would be riding to promote peace ahead of this year’s elections. I am not campaigning for any political party but am trusting that our political leaders and companies would rally behind us in this campaign,” said Ofosu Yeboah.

The campaign is being supported by GOIL Ghana Limited, Great Nana Agradaa, Thunder TV, Crystal Galaxy College and powered by United Media and Serve Solutions.
