Okailey Verse Grabs GH¢100,000 From MTN

Okailey Verse, popularly known as OV, was on Sunday, November 25 announced the winner of this year’s edition (season 7) of the MTN Hitmaker reality show held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in Accra.

In the keenly contested finals, OV defeated three other finalists Awal, Amakye and Erza Tamaa to win the seventh edition of the music reality show.

OV becomes the second female to win the covetous title since its inception.

The grand finale was hosted by Starr FM’s Drive Time hosts, Berla Mundi and Giovani Caleb.

OV’s beats producer, Magnom, also won GH¢10, 000 as an automatic prize because his artiste won on the night.

Awal Mohammed, who many thought was going to win the competition, came second whilst Amakye took the third position and Erza Tamaa settled for the fourth position.

The night also witnessed spectacular performances from past winners and past participants such as Kurl Songx, Kidi, Adina,  reda Rhymes, Kuami Eugene, among others.

The season one of the MTN Hitmaker reality show saw Naterial win the coveted prize subsequently, many aspiring musicians were inspired to participate in the second and third seasons of MTN Hitmaker.

Season two winner Koo Ntakra is making waves in the music industry and has released some hit tunes and collaborated with some of Ghana’s top musicians.

Togbe won the season three of the event and Afro-pop artiste Kidi was crowned winner of season four.

Kurl Songx of ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ fame was crowned the winner of MTN Hitmaker season five and 24-year-old Freda won the MTN Hitmaker six.

The Hitmaker reality show is aimed at giving authentic singers and rappers a platform to build their talents and be ready for the music industry.
