THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has given thumbs up to the outgoing British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson.
Giving his candid assessment on the British High Commissioner’s performance, Otumfuo said Harriet Thompson has worked and lived up to expectations, so far.
According to the Asante Monarch, he was particularly impressed about Harriet Thompson’s roles and efforts which has helped to deepen Ghana and Britain ties.

“Your performance in office is an indication that you came here to work assiduously to bring Ghana and Britain together, and you have delivered,” Otumfuo remarked.
According to the Asante Monarch, aside being easily accessible, the British envoy also spearheaded several initiatives to benefit the two countries.
The Asantehene made these known during a visit by Harriet Thompson to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to officially inform him about the end of her duties in Ghana.
Otumfuo expressed hope that Harriet Thompson’s successor would continue where she is leaving off, in order to strengthen Ghana and Britain relations.
“It’s my prayer that whoever is coming to replace you here will continue from where you left off, since you have performed exceptionally well,” the Asantehene said.
He stressed on the need for both Ghana and Britain to continue to closely work together to help improve the living conditions of citizens of the two countries.
