Police Questions 2 Over Asokwa Burglary

TWO PERSONS have been nabbed and questioned on suspicion that they have a hand in a burglary that took place in a house at Asokwa, in Kumasi.

Some unknown hoodlums reportedly broke into the Asokwa house on Thursday and made away with valuables like mobile phones, computers and money.

Suspects Emmanuel Wiafe and Patrick Ayimadu were apprehended by the police on suspicion that they may have orchestrated the robbery in the then quiet house.

According to a police report, the owner of the house and his daughter (names withheld for security reasons), were not at home when the robbers stormed the house.

The man and daughter returned home around 6:55pm on Thursday and they realised their house had been burgled as several valuable items were nowhere to be found.

“Four laptops, two iPads, two Huawei mobile phones, two Samsung phones, one 50″ LG flat screen television, one pump action gun and unspecified amount of foreign currency, belonging to the man, were stolen.

“His daughter’s room was also ransacked and four laptops, two tablets, one external drive and personal effects were stolen,” a police report that the DAILY GUIDE has seen, said.

It said police personnel visited the crime scene and took photographs of the ransacked rooms, after which reconstruction of the damaged building was carried out.

Emmanuel Wiafe and Patrick Ayimadu were arrested on suspicion that they had a hand in the robbery and they were searched, but nothing incriminating was found on them.

The report said the suspects would be detained and interrogated further, adding that efforts would also be made to trace where the stolen items were taken to.
