Presby Church Dedicates West Legon Chapel

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) on Sunday held a ceremony to dedicate a new and impressive building for Grace Congregation, West Legon, Accra.

The chapel, according to Rev. Professor Cephas Omenyo, the incoming Moderator of the General Assembly of PCG and pastor-in-charge of the Grace Congregation, was built over a period of four years at a cost of about GH¢3.6 million.

It has a seating capacity of about 1,500, a creche and nursery, 12-washrooms, eight offices.

The church, located in the heart of West Legon, a residential area, also has a basement, which has the capacity to accommodate about 300 cars, conference rooms, sickbay, CCTV facilities, an acoustic ceiling for noise control, among others.

The outgoing Moderator of the General Assembly of PCG, Professor Emmanuel Martey, in an address, urged the congregants to allow the will of God to be done in the new and gorgeous edifice.

He charged members of the West Legon Congregation to adopt a new lifestyle in Christ, saying the new spirit-filled life should take over.

“Let today’s dedication be a changing point in your lives,” he said, adding that “enter and make good use of this new building in a renewed commitment to be a Christian of substance and value.”

In a goodwill message, the Haatso District Minister of PCG, Rev. Solomon Nii-Mensah Adjei, observed that “many physical display bring to the fore the teachings of the Reform Spirituality – teaching your members that their Christianity should not be restricted to the chapel on Sundays but permeate the whole of society and be exhibited wherever they find themselves to affect whoever they come into contact with.”
