Two suspected armed robbers have shot and killed a 38 year old mobile money vendor at Ngleshie Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality.
The deceased identified as Nicholas Essuon was shot in the neck after he was attacked in his house around 7:30pm on Thursday night.
Police reports have indicated that the victim owned three mobile money shops and on that fateful night, had gone to collect the daily sales when he was attacked upon his return.
The report indicated that a bag containing his daily sales, recharge cards and mobile phones were taken away by the robbers.
A police source at the Amanfrom Police Station told the paper that police received an official report on the attack around 9pm that Thursday night after the victim had died.
Narrating how the incident took place to DAILY GUIDE, the police source said around 7:30pm, the victim arrived from work to the house and had parked his car in front of his house.
“The house is not fenced so the victim parked the car in the open and when he had attempted to get out of the car, he saw two men who had also parked their motorbike at a distance walking towards him.
He said one of the armed men opened the back of the vehicle to pick up the victim’s bag and when he attempted to shout, the other armed man held his neck and warned him not to shout or they will kill him.
While escaping after they had picked the victim’s bag, one of the armed robbers pulled his pistol and shot him in the neck.
The victim was rushed to Kasoa Polyclinic for medical attention by his wife who witnessed the action, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at the health facility.
