Sacked Recruits Forged Documents – Police

Superintendent Cephas Arthur

A number of police recruits have been dismissed by the Ghana Police Service after they were found culpable of falsifying the documents they used in their applications.

This was confirmed by the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police, Superintendent Cephas Arthur, on Accra FM’s Ghana Yensom on Thursday December 23, 2016.

Superintendent Arthur further debunked publications on some media platforms that sought to suggest that the recruits were dismissed for no reason.

He pointed out that as it was stated in the recruitment notification carried by Daily Graphic on Monday 9th May 2016, the Police emphasised at number six, under things to note: “All academic certificates will be vetted at WAEC, and any applicant who is found to have presented forged documents will be prosecuted.”

He added: “There are those who ran away from training upon seeing that their colleagues had been found out.”

He insisted that the process of checking the backgrounds of recruits would continue, even after they have passed out.

He further advised the public to disregard other publications suggesting the dismissed recruits have been placed on a “so-called protocol list”.
