Shatta, Wizkid Start Ghana-Naija War

Shatta Wale

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has started a social media ‘war’ between Ghanaians and Nigerians following a comment he made in an interview that Nigerian musician Wizkid is not a Superstar.

The controversial Ghanaian dancehall king has since Wednesday been trending on Ghanaian and Nigerian social media platforms as well as the countries’ major websites.

He  has reportedly said he didn’t  see anything “extraordinary” about Wizkid even though he claims to be the best African artiste.

He added that meeting the ‘Show You The Money’ hitmaker will not be a stunner, instead Wizkid should rather be amazed when he comes face-to-face with him.

The statement has triggered a lot of reactions among both Nigerians and Ghanaians on social media and some websites. It first started with Nigerians heaping insults on Shatta Wale.

But in a reaction to the insults, Shatta tweeted saying, “But Naija wassup, me abi different guy oooo dont let me spark. “@wizkidayo sef knows what am talking about ..so shut f**k up..”.

Some Ghanaians supported Shatta on his stance but others did not and one of those is Samini.

He described Wizkid as a superstar after Shatta Wale called on him with a tag on twitter to help him in the fight against Nigerians who descended on him for saying their Wizkid is not a superstar.

“No one said any of what you dey type my brother. He’s a superstar like me and you and plenty others on the continent. That’s alllllll. I’m saying my Gee. I don’t know your beef and I’m not part. You called me to join and I told you straight “I’m vegetarian” chale why? Bandanna,” Samini replied in his tweet to Shatta.

Meanwhile Nigerian musician, Dammy Krane declared open support for the Dancehall King. He supported Shatta’s claims saying, “I stand by you my g @shattawalegh Real things we deal with …. No Fake Hype!!!”

The beef didn’t end there. It moved to comparison between Ghana and Nigeria which led to citizens of both countries insulting each other on social media platforms. Some of the insults were even targeted at presidents of both countries.
